Quick Update #1
01/07/2023
I've been working on a lot of new things lately, like building my first “guitar pedals”. The first is one of the most basic pedal of all, a kill switch. The other is a PT2399 (preassembled) chip with the echo mod (removing resistor R27); housed in a wooden box. After attempting to use a 3PDT switch for the first time, and doing something wrong with the wiring, I just replaced it with a simple on/off switch for now, I'll try again soon.
I've also been in the process of building two new reverb tanks. Being that I was never happy with the way “The Duelist” reverb I built in 2021 turned out, I'm hoping to improve with these new ones. They are a mix of toy microphones, speakers, piezo discs, PT2399 chips and switches. If they turn out anything like I imagine, they should be lots of fun to play around with. One is being built for me and the other is going to be a (slight) surprise for Sam Pura of Purafied Audio. He already knows I'm building it, but the actual box it's going to be housed in is the “surprise”. At this point, I am mostly just waiting on the stranded wire I need for the speakers and piezo, and it should be pretty quick after that.
I guess that's all for now. I wanted to get the blog section of the site started and felt like a quick update would be a good start. In the future, I intend to use this as a “maker blog” with updates on the things I am currently working on. I'll also try to include pictures of what I'm making, wiring diagrams and some tutorials. At least, that's the hope.
